The first thing you should consider is the popularity of the website you are about to advertise on. Ask for a concrete data on how many people visit the site on daily basis.

What attracts most internet users to an ad is the picture, therefore your logo, design, should be colorful and inviting. You may decide to use  pictures.  Use images that have higher resolution than what you need. Taking your own pics is not recommended unless you are a pro. Another crucial aspect of of display advertising is honesty, especially on the part of publishers. Since most display advertising agency use the pay per click method to charge advertisers, there is a tendency of fraud. This happens when a publisher uses manual or automated means to click on an ad with no intent of buying. The same goes with online impression fraud-when a publisher overstates the number of ad impression delivered to advertisers.

Make sure your publishers website uses reliable click analysis technique. It will not only save you the trouble, but will keep some other data you need about your progress.

Keep your traffic in check


The reason you are advertising is to accumulate traffic. And the best way to accumulate traffic is to monitor it. Therefore, watch closely as it flows, it will help you to know your target audience. And if your aim of advertising is to give your brand publicity, it will help you to know how popular your brand has got.
