What is Article Marketing?


Article Marketing is the use of written articles to create funnels to the landing page of your website. The articles are not sales letters, neither are they direct ads about your business. Rather, they are used to write about your niche or field. They give important information about your field. They provide tips and tricks, talk about the pros and cons, how to tell the fakes from the original etc. These articles are then published on content publishing websites, guest blogs, company blog, social media platforms etc. On each article a link directs readers to your website.


We have just summed up the three aspects of article marketing:

This may be things they were never aware of and would definitely appreciate it. the articles are meant to give a degree of value to the reader in themselves so that they would have gained something just for reading the website. That is, although that click through may be important, the articles are not to nudge the person to click through to your website per see (people who do this tend to miss a great opportunity of providing valuable information to the reader), but it is written in such a way that the person still gains something specific even when they do not click through. Some article marketers hold the view that the article should not be “too good”, that it should just have enough to compel the person to click through to seek for more. I am of the school of thought that believes this is wrong.




  1. Give them a great article and let them click through because it was great.


 

  1. You will still be adding value to those that do not click through and they might just bookmark that page or send it to someone else because it gives a specific answer rather than hold back on it with the hope that the person will click through to get more.


 

  1. There are no guarantees that the person will click through to get more. They might be looking for an answer and came this far to find it. They might just decide to go back to Google and click on the next link. Therefore, you would be missing a great opportunity to show that you have the answer and you will be like one of those who are just filling up space on the internet.


The benefits of article Marketing


Authority Figure


When done the proper way, article marketing builds you or your business to be an authority figure. This is why you should make sure your article are “too good” because the more your “authority” on the matter will increase.

The more you create and publish great articles, the greater your visibility and you get to have more people following you. This is basically the social aspect of article marketing. I cannot begin to quantify the benefit of becoming an authority figure.

Search Engine Ranking


The more you follow through on article marketing, the greater your chances of being ranked high on search engines. The second aspect of article marketing has you publishing the articles on multiple websites. These are usually websites that are already optimized for search engines, some more than others. The effect of this is that your content may begin to appear at different levels of the search engine page.



Direct interface to Clients


Your articles become a direct interface to possible clients once you have built up your authority figure in that field. Once you hit critical mass (which you can also call the tipping point), this can start producing a steady stream of income for your business.



Observation


There are online businesses that seem to frown on and avoid article marketing. I am personally surprised at this because it has been proven to work, another thing is that there is nothing ethically wrong with it when used properly. There is simply no reasonable excuse to ignore this form of online social marketing. Giving readers something to get something in return works well for everyone. Bigger organizations would do well to see how they can employ the services of article marketers to boost their profits. It is form of marketing that is more direct than say, tweeting or using traditional social networks. It uses an indirect manner to draw potential clients to your business.
