Social Entrepreneurs are known to be face changers of business. They have strong social influence and see opportunities where people see difficulties and turn it into new ideas, thereby creating solutions and making the changes needed for the improvement of the society at large. As long as innovation is concerned, the solution lies with the social entrepreneur. While a business entrepreneur may be concerned with the idea to create new industries, the social entrepreneur finds solution to the problem and implement them on a larger scale because he has an interest in creating a better world. Social entrepreneur believes that business can meet its financial goals and still have a positive, social impact.

To become a social entrepreneur, the focal point is to identify the problem. Doing so helps you seek a solution. Every good idea surely leads to success. As a social entrepreneur, your main goal is to see your ideas turn into reality, to prosper and be made into a successful scheme. Start by building a strong foundation, recall that before you ever start anything, someone must have been there. So partner with organizations that know the terrain very well. Align with organizations with good track record; those whose ideals tally with yours will help you to achieve your end goal.

Hire the Best Staff

Beside corporate partnership, you can do it yourself by employing professionals. Hire competent, smart and intelligent staff. As exhilarating as it can be, it is the most important decision you need to make as an entrepreneur. The choice you make in hiring determine the strength of your success or failure. Be sure that those whom you are in business with understand your goals and are ready to play along. Have an in-depth job analysis on the task ahead by defining the roles. Don’t allow personal bias to get in the way of selecting the best candidate, employ a competent stranger than inefficient relative. The staff must undergo training to remain effective. Good remuneration and welfare package is a must. Remember, if you want the best pay the best.

Be Focused and Don’t Be Deterred by Changes

This aspect cannot be over emphasized. An important part to becoming a social entrepreneur is the need to put into consideration your mission and passion. You need to be able to tap into public compassion. If you make a business decision strictly for the profit potential, it may not attract the right partners, people and public. Acknowledging a lot of factors may be considered. In most cases, it’s rare to find your unique selling strategy. Don’t let that deter you. Agreed, it takes time, but it’s worth the wait. While it’s important that we function as a nonprofit, a well-run organization with a different business objectives are known to be the most successful. For it to be effective you need to be everywhere your donors are, with a view to adding professional touch to their values. Never lose sight of what your ultimate goal is.

An effective solution to solving social problem, requires that you identify and stay committed to a vision and be determined to stand despite all odds in the face of any challenge. Recall you can’t do it alone. At the development of the project, there may be an extensive area that may require more hands. So partnership can’t be ruled out as mentioned earlier.
